My next card to share isn't so much one card, as six. It's actually a gift for a fabulous teacher's aide in my medium-son's kindergarten class (I have three boys: small, medium and large; in no way referring to their comparative size). This aide has spent a lot of time with my little dude and I wanted to give her a thank you gift from the heart.
This gift is portfolio of cards and I think it turned out rather well. I got the idea, all the measurements and instructions from another blogger named Leena Girsa (her amazing talents and creativity are showcased at http://alacards.blogspot.ca). Check out this link if you want the details for the portfolio: http://alacards.blogspot.ca/p/tutorials.html. She did an absolutely beautiful job of her portfolio and is kind and generous enough to share her formula for this great gift, at no charge.
After you've checked out mine, be sure to check out Leena's version http://alacards.blogspot.ca/2010/09/world-card-making-day-is-oct-2nd.html and leave her a comment.
Hope you enjoy...
The first picture I have posted is of one of the cards in the portfolio. I made six of them, all the same, but in six different colors.
The second picture is of the outside of the portfolio. The ribbon ties in a bow to close the box. The picture on the front has the same flower stamp I used on the cards and is stamped in each of the colors I used for the cards.
The third picture is of the spine. Just wanted to show the detail as I scored it horizontally every 1/4".
The fourth picture is of the portfolio opened up. On left side you can see the envelopes in their pocket and on the right you can see the cards in their pocket. On the outside of the pockets you can see the sentiments that are on dimensionals, ready to peel and stick to personalize each card. There are 12 sentiments and some of the more common ones have doubles.
The fifth picture shows all of the cards.
The sixth picture is of the coordinating envelopes.
